POSTDOC AND PH.D. POSITIONS ARE AVAILABLE.
The long-term goal of Nakamura lab is to unvail the genetic mechanisms underlying fish diversity and their contribution to the fish-to-tetrapod transition. To this end, we bridge functional genomics, genetics, and embryology using model and non-model organisms, including zebrafish, skates, and sharks.
Rutgers University is located in New Brunswick, NJ, 45 minutes away from NYC by train. Many competitive research universities and institutes are in the Northeast area, offering remarkable opportunities for collaboration and research conferences. The Nakamura lab regularly visits the American Museum of Natural History (https://www.amnh.org/) and the Marine Biological laboratory (https://www.mbl.edu/) for the purpose of analyzing unique specimens and educating students.
Postdocs Positions supported by NIH funding are available. Also, for U.S. citizens, a position supported by INSPIRE program (NIH-Instituional Research and Career Development Award) is also available. Please contact the PI, Tetsuya Nakamura at nakamura@dls.rutgers.edu for more details.
Graduate students Positions are available through Molecular Biosciences and Ecology & Evolution programs. Please contact the PI to discuss an appropriate program before submitting an application.
