I am the fish technician for the Nakamura and Copeland Labs. I have spent my scientific career working with invertebrates and vertebrates, beginning with husbandry and then involved with research. After earning a degree in Biology at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa, I spent time as a lab manager at the Martinez lab at Pomona College. I then went on to Georgia Southern University to earn my Master’s in Biology in the Kane Lab. My thesis research on Trinidadian Guppies focused on how different populations of the same species adapted to different environments. I am interested in how species interactions affect communities, specifically predation loss and prey consumption/capture. I am excited to be part of the Nakamura Lab to learn new skills and be involved in research on the transition of fish to tetrapod.
